We're passionate about manufacturing and skilled trades in general because of our experience starting and running Compass. Compass was a robotics and automation company that built custom assembly and inspection machines for a wide variety of manufacturing companies.

 

We got really good at building these machines. Our customers included Raytheon, United Technologies, Caterpillar, and many more of the best manufacturing companies in the USA.

While running Compass, I learned about how difficult it was for our customers to find and hire skilled workers. Their workforce was aging and getting ready to retire and there were not enough young people choosing manufacturing as a career path. We thought there was an opportunity to grow the industry.

 

After selling Compass to Tesla in 2017, we decided to dedicate ourselves to help with this problem. Our mission is to get young people excited about manufacturing and find them a great job!
